People

Although experimental and surreal photography resonate the most with me, I find portraiture — or simply photographing people — to be one of the most exciting aspects of this medium. With only a few exceptions, the people featured on this site are individuals I encountered in the streets or during everyday life. They are strangers whom I approached or spontaneously captured in unique, unrepeatable, and honest moments, shaped by their current life situations. When photographing people I am not really into taking prearranged, theatrical portraits that belongs to a different genre entirely. Opportunities to create truly intimate photographs are rare, but when such a moment arises, and the shot succeeds, it fills me with satisfaction to know that I’ve been able to reveal a glimpse of the real world, a fragment of its many facets. I selected from approximately seven years’ worth of material. Mainly from those photographs taken when I was a complete beginner, holding a camera in my hands for the very first time.
